Apple Walnut Slaw

This coleslaw is the perfect blend of sweet and tangy. The crisp apples and nutty goodness make it irresistible. It's so easy to throw together that it can be made at the last minute, so there's still time to make it for today's barbecues.

Apple Walnut Slaw

1 16 oz bag shredded cabbage and carrots
1/2 small onion, finely diced
1/2 cup light mayonnaise
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 apples, peeled and chopped
1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Rinse and drain cabbage and carrots. Place in large mixing bowl.

Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Yields about 10 servings.

  3. I should know better than to look at yummy recipes when I'm already starving--I want to make this right now. I think I might also try brown sugar in my usual recipe instead of regular sugar.

    1. I bet that would be good. The brown sugar adds another level of flavor compared to white sugar.
